I know it's not a nice thing to present, especially since we're so close to Christmas, but just in case people forget....

If I may say so the only hard part about going is leaving you.

Oh. That's so sad but at the same time funny a little.

When I was a kid I used to watch many cartoons on TV and Top Cat is one of my favorites ever.

Arnold did a good job as the voice of Top Cat.

I'm so proud of it. But very sad he's gone now.
God bless you, Arnold Stang.

Very simple but touchingly sad piece. The ringing of the unanswered ';phone is very moving. Now half the TC cast are no longer with us, but AS will always be remembered by millions. It's only a shame we Brits don't get much exposure to his other acheivements as well.

Well done.

Aye, very true. While it's grand that stuff like "The Goon Show" is still being remembered on a regular basis on BBC Radio, it would be nice to see, or rather hear, the American side of radio lives. Even folks like Bill Thompson and Alan Reed started out in radio before landing it big in either cartoons or live-action skits.

And thanks very kindly. Ironically, the episode "The Late T.C" sprang to mind whilst drawing this piece...

That was one of the ones I watched while drawing my tribute piece. It's hilarious! Especially because Dibble wins for once.

I agree, I'd love to hear more of olde American comedy (better than the likes of 'Friends' IMHO ...yeeesh) I have a Mel Blanc CD and Alana Reed in on that - years before they were Fred & Barney!

I was in the car and there was a radio program mentioning about Stang. He had such a recognisable voice in a show loved by millions. he will be greatly missed

Aw, dang. :ohnoes: That's a darn shame, he was a legend for TC alone, but he will be remembered for a great career as well. A fitting and sad tribute to a defining voice.

I honestly didn't realise who he was until today...very poignant piece indeed, this.
